Coping with Tough News

Getting bad news about someone you love can hit you hard. It’s super important to look after yourself when you’re going through tough times like this. I’ve worked as a psychic medium for over 3 decades now, and I’ve seen how staying positive can really make a difference, even when things seem really dark.


Here are some simple tips to help you take care of yourself when you’re dealing with tough news.


First, try to stay open to all possibilities. It’s easy to think the worst when you hear bad news, but don’t shut out hope. Keeping an open mind can help you deal with things better.


Focus on living in the moment. It’s easy to get caught up in “what ifs” or get stuck on things from the past, but focusing on the now can really help keep you grounded.


Don’t forget to laugh and smile. It might seem counter intuitive, but laughing can lighten your mood and give you a little break from feeling down.


Breathing deeply is also helpful. It can calm you down when you’re feeling anxious and make stressful times a bit easier to manage. There are a number of videos on YouTube that teach simple breathing exercises. It’s worth finding one that fits you and discovering how effective this practice is.


Sometimes, it’s good to just let go and give yourself some quiet time where you can release stress and stop thinking about outcomes. Meditation can be great for this. It helps you let go of immediate worries and clears your head.


Most importantly, remember that it’s okay to feel whatever you’re feeling. Sad, yet grateful for your loved one…  mad, but still hopeful—it’s all normal. Being okay with your feelings is important for your emotional well-being when times are tough.
